Castillon du Gard

Castillon du Gard Castillon du Gard is a picturesque village perched on the edge of a limestone plateau, 5 km from Pont du Gard. Its historic center is classified as architectural heritage of France.

You can discover its pretty cobbled streets, its stone houses, the architecture of the House of the Remparts and the Romanesque Chapel, the latter welcomes the little Castillonnais every day for the canteen.

You can also admire the walkway a beautiful view of the Pont du Gard and contemplate a panorama of the vineyards and the scrubland.

Its weekly Provencal market is held on Tuesdays, and the many restaurants will allow you to have a good time in the heart of the Gard country.

the Pont du Gard

Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Pont du Gard is part of an exceptional environment. It is a Roman aqueduct built on 3 levels, which spans the river Gardon at the bottom of a valley. The monument built in the 1st century AD was the most spectacular part of a 50 km canal that brought water from Uzès to the city of Nimes. It is one of the most visited French monuments with nearly 1.5 million tourists each year.

Uzès

City of Art and History, Uzès is a beautifully renovated city, for lovers, enthusiasts, curious, the architectural heritage of Uzès and its region will amaze you.

1st Duchy of France, Uzès has a magnificent ducal castle in the heart of the city whose Renaissance facade is a small jewel and its Gothic chapel a little gem.

Avignon

Avignon is 30 minutes (25 km) by car from the Fontaine de Cérier. With the Palais des Papes, the Saint Bénézet Bridge, its museums, its Theater Festival in July, the City of the Popes has a lot to offer the visitor.

Baux de Provence

The village and the fortress of Les Baux de Provence (42 km) in the Alpilles are a must for visitors to Provence.

Camargue

An hour away by car, you will arrive in the Camargue, with its sandy beaches, Aigues-Mortes the city of Saint-Louis, practically intact since the Middle Ages.

Luberon

Gordes and the picturesque villages of Luberon are about sixty kilometers away.
